Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Tab 3 reportedly coming at IFA 2013

A new report reveals that Samsung could unveil more Galaxy-branded products at IFA 2013 in Berlin, Germany, this September, including the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Tab 3.
The info comes from Sam Mobile, whose insider had access to such details, although he wasn’t able to share any details about the Galaxy Tab 3’s hardware.
The first Galaxy Tab model was also officially unveiled at IFA, back in 2010, while the second-generation tablet versions were announced at MWC 2012. The report also notes that these devices will apparently stop receiving support from Samsung, with the Galaxy Tab 2 set to stop at Android 4.2.2.
The Galaxy Note 3, which recently appeared in another rumor claiming that AT&T execs will have access to a 5.9-inch mockup unit this week, will also be announced at IFA. Even if not confirmed, such a move would make plenty of sense considering that the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 2 were also unveiled at the same German trade show, in previous years.
We’ll be back with more Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Tab 3 details in the following months, as more rumors detailing these devices will surely get leaked.

Tablet Monday: Get a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 for $126.99

Originally $249, the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is on sale for roughly half the price.Lover of alliteration that I am, I generally try to wait till Tuesday to trot out the tablets. But today's deal couldn't wait.
For a limited time, and while supplies last, Best Buy has the refurbished Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 tablet for $126.99 shipped, plus sales tax where applicable. Barely a year ago, this same model sold new for $249, and still runs about $179 elsewhere.
Update: Drat! I knew this was too good to last: Looks like it's sold out already. But do check back throughout the day in case Best Buy releases more inventory. It's been known to happen!
This is a 7-inch slate running Android 4.0, and according to at least one source, an update to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) is already available.
Though physically similar to the original Kindle Fire (which currently sells for $159) and stocked with the same 8GB of storage, the Galaxy Tab 2 offers a good deal more bang for the buck.
Noteworthy specs include dual cameras, Bluetooth 3.0, a microSD slot for adding more storage (up to 32GB), and even a TV-remote option courtesy of an IR blaster and Peel's Smart Remote app.
The conclusion is this: "The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 offers an excellent value and a full Android 4.0 experience that no other tablet can currently match for the price." And that was when it sold for $249!
Because this is refurbished, you get only a 90-day warranty. But you also get a powerful, versatile tablet for an incredibly low price. Don't be surprised if it sells out before the morning's over.
Bonus deal: If you're among the 20 or so people who never read it, Dan Brown's "The Da Vinci Code" is available in e-book form free of charge for Android, Kindle, Kobo, and Nook. It normally sells for as much as $9.99, and will again come March 24.
Bonus deal No. 2: Love "The Walking Dead"? Here's your chance to "enjoy" the zombie apocalypse for yourself. Today only, Gamefly has The Walking Dead (Win) for $9.99. It includes all five episodes of the game, and normally sells for $24.99. Check out GameSpot's 8.0 review of episode 1. To solve this gripping adventure, you'll have to use your braaaaaaiiinnnns.
Deals found on The Cheapskate are subject to availability, expiration, and other terms determined by sellers.

Verizon Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and 7 now receiving their Jelly Bean OTA update

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
If you are tired of seeing the same outdated software on your Verizon Samsung Galaxy Tab, there is an OTA update that is rolling out to most users that upgrades your tablet to, well, newer outdated software.
Android 4.1 is now hitting the Verizon Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and 7, bringing all the performance improvements you would expect from Project Butter, as well as a healthy serving of Google Now.
While those are the 2 biggest improvements, there are going to be specific features that will only be available on your particular device: click here to check out the entire list of changes for the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and here for the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.
As always, if you are one of the people who have not had the update pushed to your tab yet, head into the Settings -> About device -> System updates to manually ping the servers. The update has already been approved and pushed to the non-carrier branded unlocked models, so hopefully there should not be any hidden problems or major bugs. Do let us know how the update is performing in the comments.
