Oil Rush 3D finally available, only on Snapdragon S4 devices for now

Oil Rush 3D Android
The moment many mobile gamers have been waiting for is here – Oil Rush 3D for Android is finally available. The bad news is that, if you’re not the proud owner of a Snapdragon S4 device, the game is out of your reach. For now, at least.
The game is already available in the Google Play Store (see Source link below) and it costs $7.99. It’s just as exciting as it was expected to be, but you need to know one essential thing. The game can only be played, for now, on devices with Snapdragon S4 chips – MSM8960, MSM8260A, MSM8974, APQ8064 and MPQ8064 with an Adreno 225 or 320 GPU and at least 1GB of RAM. Among the most popular models falling into this category are the Google Nexus 4,Sony Xperia T and Xperia Z, or the Asus Padfone 2.
This may sound like very bad news, but there is still hope for those that don’t own one of the devices listed on the game’s official site. According to it, the game will run exclusively on Snapdragon S4 devices ‘for six months following release’. So you’ll just have to wait until September, hoping that your device will be among the lucky ones.
And while you do, you can watch the trailer below.
Have you already tried Oil Rush 3D? What do you think?

The Croods now available through Google Play

Croods
Quite a departure from Angry Birds and its spin-offs, Rovio and DreamWorks have teamed up to bring you The Croods, which is available now via Google Play.
Instead of flinging birds across the gamestage, the game is all about hunting and gathering while finding unique creatures along the way. While the ‘creatures’ are somewhat inspired by primitive-era mammals, they certainly have a dose of fantasy added in thanks to wacky looks and crazy names like “molarbear” and “girelephant”. In total, there are 10 creatures for you to trap and tame.
Outside of trapping, hunting and gathering, you will also find yourself doing a bit of inventing as well. Still not enough to keep you entertained? Rovio also throws in the ability to customize both your homes and characters through special accessories.
Although this isn’t your typical Rovio title, and is actually a movie tie-in game, it certainly still looks to have the same Rovio charm we’ve all come to know and love. That said, Google Play user reviews seem to be pretty mixed, so it might not be for everyone.
If you are interested in giving The Croods a try, you can get it now for Google Play. The game is free, though there are in-app purchases for items like coins that help expand the gameplay and your customization options.

What do you think, another gem from Rovio, or not even in the same league as titles like Angry Birds?

Nintendo hit with $30.2M in damages over 3D patent suit

Nintendo was found liable of infringing on glasses-free 3D technology in a lawsuit that wrapped up today.
A New York federal jury concluded that the game maker used features of a patent developed by Seijiro Tomita in its handheld 3DS gaming device, according to Reuters. The jury awarded Tomita $30.2 million in compensatory damages.

"We are thankful to the jurors for their diligence and hard work," Tomita's attorney Joe Diamante told Reuters. "It has been a honor to represent Mr. Tomita and to protect his invention."
Tomita, who is a former Sony employee, said that he developed the patent to make 3D images that can be seen without 3D glasses. Nintendo uses this type of technology in its 3DS device. The 3D effect in this video game system can be adjusted with a slider making game characters come more or less to life.
Tomita filed the lawsuit against Nintendo in 2011. According to Reuters, Nintendo's attorney Scott Lindvall claimed that the 3DS device doesn't use the central features of Tomita's patent.
