The $145 Neo N003 is the world’s cheapest quad-core phone with a 5-inch 1080p display
Not more than a few short months ago, we saw the first smartphone to sport a 1080p display, the HTC Butterfly (Droid DNA), hit the market. This was quickly followed by the introduction of more high-end phones that boast similar full HD panels, with “high-end” being the keyword here.
The Neo N003, which we first reported in December, changes all this. Back then it didn’t have a price tag attached to its name and specs yet, but now we’ve found out that it’ll be offered at an amazingly low price of $145… in China.
In addition to its 5-inch full HD display (1,920 x 1080 resolution), the Neo N003 is expected to come with a quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The rest of the known specs so far include 1GB of RAM, a 13MP rear camera, and a 3,000mAh battery. All in all, it’s definitely a great price for the package that you’ll be getting.
It’s too bad that there’s no word yet on when the N003 will be released, but we hear that a higher-end model will also be up for grabs soon. We’ll keep you posted.
