Motorola Droid 4 to get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean soon?

Moto-Droid-4 (1)
We learned last week that Motorola has started its Jelly Bean soak tests for two oldies, but goodies smartphones, the Droid Razr and Droid Razr Maxx, with the JB release hitting some lucky users via OTA not long thereafter. Joining the two in the soak test party is the Motorola Droid 4.
As reported by Droid Life, members of the Motorola Feedback Network have received an invitation from the phone maker to be the first few to try out “an early preview of a new software release” for the Droid 4.
Now, it doesn’t mean that they’re talking about Jelly Bean, but seeing that the slider Droid phone already runs Android 4.0.4, Jelly Bean seems to be the next logical software bump up. After all, Moto has also promised on its website that the device will get upgraded to Android 4.1, though no specific date has been given for now.
We’ll find out in the coming weeks whether Droid 4 soak testers will get to play with Jelly Bean early. If that’s truly the case, it means that the official update for the device should also be just right around the corner.
